Austen Slade, MD, MBA, is a board-certified urologist in Boise, Idaho, specializing in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), kidney stones, and Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP). He completed a prestigious two-year HoLEP fellowship at Indiana University, the birthplace of HoLEP in the United States, and has performed more than 1,000 HoLEP procedures.

Dr. Slade is a nationally recognized HoLEP expert, published researcher, and frequent speaker at national and international urology conferences. He also serves as a national HoLEP trainer for practicing urologists seeking advanced surgical training in the treatment of prostate enlargement.

In addition to BPH treatment, Dr. Slade has expertise in kidney stone surgery and vasectomy care.

Michael returned to Idaho for school and is happy to call Boise home. Born in Idaho Falls, his family moved to Vermont when he was young. He completed high school and returned to the west for undergraduate at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, earning his bachelor's degree in Sociology. After this, he spent about 5 years working in wilderness therapy, backpacking in the Utah desert with teenage boys. While the outdoors are source of joy, it is a difficult life to maintain, so he returned to school to prepare for becoming a PA. He completed PA school at ISU, and is excited to be settling in to Boise.

In his time off, Michael enjoys mountain biking, ski touring, whitewater, reading oversized books and playing absurdly long boardgames.
